Guidebook structure explained: Categories, subcategories and topics

Every guidebook template has a Content Hub. In Content Hub you can create and manage the content that will be shown in the guides that are linked to that template. There are three levels that make up the structure of Content Hub: categories, subcategories and topics.

Explaining your guidebook structure

  • Level 1: Categories – These are the top level and create the main menu headers in your guide.

Examples: Welcome, About the accommodation, Your local area guide.

  • Level 2: Subcategories – These sit within each category and appear as subheadings in your guide.

Examples: Under Your local area guide: Restaurants, Things to Do, Shops.

  • Level 3: Topics – These sit within each subcategory. This is where you add your actual content: text, photos, Google Places, videos, and more.

Examples: How to Use the Coffee Machine, Favourite Restaurant, Beach Access Information.

Editing and adding a Category, Subcategory or Topic

To edit or add a category, subcategory or topic, click the three dots on the righthand side where you want to make an edit.

Reordering a category, subcategory or topic

Click and hold on the 6 dots on the lefthand side of the content box to drag and drop the sections where you want to position them in your template.

  • You can move categories up and down to adjust the order they will show up to your guests on their home screen. All of the subcategories and topics within them will also be moved
  • You can move a subcategory to re-order it within a category. The topics in that subcategory will move with it
  • You can move a topic from one subcategory to another. Topics can be moved independently from the subcategories so it is easy to re-order them and move them around

Adding new categories, subcategories and topics:

You can add as many new categories, subcategories, or topics as you like to Content Hub. There is no limit and there are over 80 default topics to choose from based on the guide template you are using.

Duplicating categories, subcategories and topics:

Click the 3 dots on the right of any category, subcategory or topic and click Duplicate topic. This will duplicate the content exactly and create a double. You can then make any changes to the duplicated content as normal.
