How to embed a Giraffe 360 tour in your guide

Drop a Giraffe 360 tour into any section of your Touch Stay guidebook to make it fun for guests to explore your property, build excitement and plan ahead, long before they arrive.

Step by step: How to add a Giraffe 360 tour to your Touch Stay guidebook

Open Custom Elements and click New Custom Element:

  • New Hub: Account library → Custom Elements in the left sidebar (multi-account owners: Content Hub → Custom Elements)

  • Legacy Hub: Settings → Custom Elements

Next, select Giraffe 360 as the Third Party Service. This will prepopulate an Element code name, but you can change this to something more descriptive if you prefer. This is the short code that you will ultimately insert into your topic content where you want the 360 tour to show.

You now need to copy the link to your Giraffe 360 tour (it starts with https://tour.giraffe360.com/). This can be found in your Giraffe 360 account under the sharing options for your tour. Copy the link, paste it into the Giraffe 360 Tour link box in your Touch Stay Custom Element and click Save.

Your Custom Element is now ready and the final step is to insert it into your topic content where you want the 360 tour to be displayed.

Open the topic you want to add the tour to (new Hub: open the guidebook and go to the Guidebook Content tab; legacy Hub: Content Hub). Place your cursor where you would like the tour to appear; it can be used standalone or have regular topic content (text or images) before or after. Click Custom Element in the editor toolbar, select your element code name from the dropdown and click Insert. Then save the topic (new Hub: Save Changes; legacy Hub: Save).

This will place your custom element code into your topic content, and when you preview the guide it will be replaced by your chosen 360 tour.

Trouble Shooting FAQs

My link isn't being accepted when creating my custom element, what should I do?

If your link isn't being accepted, then the most likely reason is that it's the wrong link. Double check you are using the standard link for your tour, starting with https://tour.giraffe360.com/. If this still doesn't work, or you can't find it in your Giraffe 360 account, then please contact support and send us a screenshot of the Giraffe 360 share options that are available to you.

My 360 tour doesn't display fully or has lots of empty space beneath it, what should I do?

The Giraffe 360 tour will be added to your guide using what's known in web development as an iframe. This technique creates a window in your guide to the 360 tour player. However, the window isn't able to detect the size of the source 360 tour and you may wish to adjust the height of the window to better match your tour player. Open Custom Elements (see the path above), use the 3 dots menu next to the element and select View/Edit, then adjust the Standard element height. You may find it useful to have your guide preview open in a separate tab so you can refresh the page after changing the height in case it needs further adjustment.

Can I have a different version of the 360 tour for each of my guides?

On the legacy Hub, yes. This means you don't need to create a separate custom element for each of your properties. Go to Guides and click the name of the guide. Scroll down to the Guide Custom Elements card at the bottom of the Guide details page and click Edit. In the Edit Custom Elements (this guide only) window, any tour link and height you set will apply to this guide only. This card only appears if you have more than one guide and at least one Custom Element.

The new Hub doesn't have a per-guide version yet. It has no screen to see or edit per-guide values, but any you already set in the legacy Hub still apply to your guests. To change them, switch back to the legacy Hub. Note that if you're an owner, admin or team admin, switching to the legacy Hub also turns Guidebook 2.0 off.
