How to update the guide logo or mobile icon (Legacy hub)

Each guide has a guide logo and a mobile icon (called a favicon). The logo is the image that sits in the centre of your guide cover page and in the top left corner of the Info page. The favicon is the image that is used when your guide is saved to a person's mobile phone. The logo and favicon can be a photo or your business logo.

ℹ️ This article covers the legacy Hub. If you're on the new Hub, see How to update the guide logo or mobile icon.

Template level & guide level logo & favicon explained

If you have multiple guides attached to each of your templates you can apply the logo and favicon to all of them using the template level settings. If you want all or some of the guides attached to each template to have different logos and favicons, you can adjust these details at the guide level.

How to apply template level logo & favicon

Go to Settings > Branding. Click 'Edit' on 'Logo & icons'.

Click 'Upload logo' and 'upload icon' to upload your choice of logo and favicon. This logo and favicon will now be applied to all of the guides attached to this template.

How to apply guide level logo & favicon

Go to Guides and click guide name to open the Guide details page. Click 'Edit' on 'Guide branding'.

Toggle the 'Use template level logo & icon' to 'No' then click 'Upload' to upload your choice of logo and favicon to be displayed just on this guide. You can do this for all of the guides on each template.

💡 TOP TIP: To create a circular logo instead of a square or rectangle, take your existing logo and use a tool like canva.com to crop it to a circle, save as an image file and then upload that to your guide.

Best logo shape and size

There's no required size, but a landscape logo about three times as wide as it is tall (3:1) suits the guidebook cover best. Around 1200 × 400 pixels is a good size and stays sharp on high-resolution screens.

The cover shows your whole logo up to a set height and never crops it. A wide logo fills the space. A square or portrait logo reaches the same height but uses less of the width, so it looks smaller.

💡 Tips for your logo file:

  • Crop it tight to the design, with no empty border. Empty space around the design makes the logo itself smaller.

  • Use a PNG with a transparent background so the logo sits cleanly on your cover.

  • In a few places, such as the top of the Get help screen, your logo appears as a small circle showing only its centre.

Prefer a round logo? Start from a square image and follow the top tip above.
