The Lead Time is set when creating invitations and works together with the access level of your topics. It determines how long before the arrival date your invited guests get full access to your guide. If you are happy for your guests to have full access as soon as you share the link with them, set the Lead Time to Unlimited and you don't need to worry about access levels at all.

How it works
If you would like to hide certain parts of your guide until a later time, update the access level of those topics:
New Hub: in each topic's Visibility tab, set Access level to Always visible for topics guests can see straight away, or Visible only during the stay for topics you want hidden until the Lead Time starts.
Legacy Hub: set topics to Unlimited Access (visible immediately) or Limited Access (hidden until the Lead Time starts) with the padlock icon in Content Hub.
The Lead Time determines how long before the arrival date on the invitation those hidden topics become visible.
For example, you set the arrival date to 10th March and a Lead Time of 2 days. When you first send the invitation, only the always-visible topics can be seen; then on 8th March the hidden topics also become available. A Lead Time of No only grants full access on the arrival date, whilst Unlimited gives immediate access as soon as the guest has been invited.
💡 The Lead Time controls how early access starts. It doesn't make the link expire: access after departure is a separate setting on the invitation.
Where to set the Lead Time
You set the Lead Time on each invitation: in the invitation form, click Show more and choose a Lead time (from No, through a number of days or weeks, to Unlimited). The form is the same in both Hubs.
You can also choose a default Lead Time in Messaging & Chat → Settings → Invitation settings (legacy Hub: Message Hub → Settings → Invitation settings).

Invitation settings (defaults)
Instead of choosing a Lead Time on every invitation, you can set defaults for new invitations. Go to Messaging & Chat → Settings (legacy Hub: Message Hub → Settings), find Invitation settings and click Edit. You can set two defaults:
Default Lead Time: choose No, a number of days or weeks (from 1 day up to 12 weeks), or Unlimited.
Default Allow Access after Departure Date: choose Allow Access or Don’t Allow Access. This sets whether guests can still open the guide after their departure date.
Click Submit to save. Until you set defaults, new invitations start with an Unlimited Lead Time and access after departure not allowed.
The defaults are filled in when you create an invitation, and you can still change them for that invitation. They also apply to invitations created by an integration or a CSV upload.
