How to change the fonts or colours used in the guideMain Content Fonts and Colours Go to the Guide Details tab (click on your guide name on the Guides list page), scroll down to the “Customise Colours & Fonts” section and click on the “Customise Guide Book” button: Here you will find options to choose from a selection of fonts and also update the colour choices for the navigation bar, icons and menu text. Make your changes before then hitting the Save button.

How to improve the contrast on the cover page if the text is hard to readIf the text on the cover page (Home tab) of your guide is hard to read over the top of your hero shot, then you can apply an overlay to the image to increase the contrast and make the text easier to read. The settings for this are found on the Guide Details tab (click on your guide name on the Guides list page), scroll down to the “Customise Colours & Fonts” section and click on the “Customise Welcome Book” button:

How to update the fonts and colours on all my guides at onceYou can copy the fonts and colour settings from an existing guide to all your other guides by using the checkbox at the bottom of the “Edit Customise Colours & Fonts” option. Go to the Guide Details tab (click on your guide name on the Guides list page), scroll down to the “Customise Colours & Fonts” section and click on the “Customise Welcome Book” button. Check the box and Save.

How to rename the tabs in the guest/user viewYou can rename the three tabs in the guest/user view. To start with they are called HOME | INFO | MAP but you can edit these names if you need to from the Guide Details tab (click on your Guide name from the Guides list page). Scroll down to the “Rename Tabs” section and click on the “Rename Tabs” button. The maximum number of characters for each tab name is 8.

How to hide the home pin from the Map tabIf you do not want any home pin on the map tab of your guide then you can choose to hide it completely. There is a check box for this in the “Guide / Property Address & Location” options found on the Guide Details tab (click on your guide name from the Guides list page), scroll down to the section and use the “Edit” button. Note that even without a home pin the map still needs a location to centre on, this can either be set as an address in the same “Guide / Property Address & Location” option or a pin location in the “Adjust pin location” option:

Meta Title and Description settings explainedMeta Data Each Guide will have a meta-title and meta-description included. This text doesn’t show in the regular view but will be used by search engines and link previews on social media sites and instant messaging. You can update the standard meta-title and meta-description for your Guides at the Account level, to affect all your Guides, or at the Guide level, to override the Account level Settings on a per Guide basis.

Can I Use Touch Stay to Upsell Extras to Guests?Well, yes and no! The short answer is that Touch Stay does not have an e-commerce or form creation functionality. HOWEVER! No need to reinvent the wheel as there are plenty of excellent 3rd party services out there. You could use one of them to create an order form, with a payment page, then include a link to the form from Touch Stay. Some common ones we know about (although we haven’t endorsed any of them):

How to change topics to start expanded or collapsedThe default status for Topics in your guide is opened, with all the topic information showing. When building out the content to your guide, you may find some of your Subcategories have many Topics and you would prefer to have them collapsed and show only the Topic titles at first. This could make it easier for your users to scroll through the list of items or places you have recommended.

It’s a special type of topic that allows you to collect your guests’ first impressions soon after they’ve checked in. This gives you the opportunity to get in front of any issue before it’s too late! Here’s an example of how it appears in the guest view: When a guest completes the rating and submits the form an email will be sent to your nominated email address with the details of the submission.

You do this as part of asking your guest for feedback via our rating topic feature. As an example, you could ask your guest to rate their stay before they depart, leaving their email address in the process. Or you could use our First Impressions feature to ask guests to rate their first impressions on day 1 or day 2, leaving their email address in the process.
