Topics explained

Topics hold the main content of your guidebook in Touch Stay. Topics can be created manually or be added as a Google Places. There are also special topic types such as the Weather Widget and Tide Times. Read on to learn how to edit your topic content and the different types of topic you can add to your guides.

Different topic types

There are different topic types you can add to your guides as well as different multimedia types you can include. These are listed below:

How to edit topic content

Click the 3 dots menu to the right of the topic box. Click 'Edit topic' to open the topic box editor. From here you can edit your topic title and any of the content including images, videos and links.

Use the toolbar across the top of the content editor box to change the font, format and size of text. You can add bullet points, highlight the colour and size of text, add emojis and adjust the content as needed.

Use the 'Internal link' option in the tool bar to add links to other categories, subcategories or topics in your guide. This is a great way to highlight important content to your reader. This is a great way to help your reader discover more of your guide content. Simply select the section you want to link to, click 'Add' and it will be dropped into your topic content box.

To change a topic image, scroll past the topic content editor box and click 'Change media' to upload a new photo. Use the 'Remove' button if you do not want any photo on this topic.

Applying a tags to topic

Now you can choose which tag/tags you want applied to this topic. Tags allow you to share different topic with different guides. If you only have 1 guide, make sure the 'All guides' tag is applied. If you have multiple guides you can create more tags to organise which topics you send to each guide. Learn more about tags here.

Click 'Save' to save any of your changes. You can change any of your topic content, formatting, tags or anything else whenever you need to.

Notes:

  • You can’t upload documents, such as PDF or Word, directly into Touch Stay but you can link to them, see this article for further details.
  • You can only have a single video for each topic. Multiple photos can be added by inserting them into the text body using the image icon in the text entry box toolbar.
