Here's what happens when a guest opens a guidebook that has Guest Registration turned on.
What your guests see
A guest who hasn't checked in yet sees a sticky footer on the guidebook with a Check-in now button and the line "Takes 1 minute. Helps you and your host prepare". If you've set the step to Optional, a Continue to guidebook link next to it lets them skip.
Selecting Check-in now opens a Check-in to start your stay screen: "Help us make your stay better." The first step, 1 You, is headed Primary guest (you) and asks for e-mail, first name, last name and phone number — the ones you marked Required? are enforced. Below the fields is a consent line, "I consent to receive: Stay updates, communication — Check-in details, host messages, reminders about your stay." If you haven't switched Marketing purposes on in your guest data processing settings, it also states that there's no marketing communication; if you have, guests get a marketing consent option too, with a link to your privacy policy.
They select Next: Stay details to move to step 2 Your stay, where they confirm arrival and departure dates, an expected arrival time picked from your arrival window, and how many additional guests are staying. If they opened the guidebook from their own personalised invitation, their booking dates are already filled in.
If you've turned on Guest Identification, a further step asks for a document type, ID number, and the other details you've required — typed in, never photographed or uploaded.
Checking in with a group
Once the lead guest has entered their first name, they can share a check-in link with the rest of their party — useful when you've set ID collection to All guests, because everyone then has to complete their own details before the group gets in. Each companion opens the link, sees who invited them and the stay dates, and completes only their own details and one set of ID details.
Good to know
The check-in link the lead shares expires after one hour and works once — each companion needs their own fresh link.
With Required registration, guests can't reach the guidebook content until they submit. With Optional, they can skip and come back to it later.
Guests can leave and come back later on the same device — their progress is saved step by step as they go.
Once submitted, guests see a confirmation they can acknowledge.
Companions only see the lead guest's first name and an abbreviated last name.
If the lead later edits their own check-in, anything companions already submitted stays put.
