You can turn Timelines off for a single guidebook, or switch your account's guidebook design back — either way, your Timeline setup is kept, not deleted.
How to turn Timelines off
Go to Guidebook → Timelines for the guidebook.
If this guidebook follows your account settings, turn off Use Guidebook defaults first — while it's on, the guidebook has no switch of its own.
Turn off Enable Smart timelines guest experience. The status pill changes from Enabled to Disabled.
Select Save Changes.
What your guests see
With Timelines off, your guest's Home tab returns to the standard, non-timeline guidebook — the Info, Store, and Assistant tabs are unaffected.
Switching guidebook design
Timelines only works on the new guidebook design. If your account switches back to the Legacy design in General settings → Guidebook experience, Timelines is disabled but everything you built stays saved — switching back to Guidebook 2.0 brings your Timeline setup back with it.
Good to know
To turn Timelines off for every guidebook that follows your account settings, switch it off in Guidebook defaults → Timelines instead. Guidebooks that have taken control of their own switch aren't affected.
If your account is still on the Legacy design, a guidebook's Timelines tab shows an upsell message instead: Timelines are available in New guidebook only — "We introduced next level of smart guidebooks. Check it out!" — with an Explore New guidebook button. The Guest Registration tab shows the same message.
Why this is better: Hosts can safely turn Timelines off or try the new guidebook design without losing their Timeline work.
