If you want a topic to stop appearing in one of your guidebooks, the new Hub gives you two ways to do it. Neither deletes the topic: your content stays safe in the Account library and in any other guidebook that uses it.
ℹ️ This article covers the new Hub. If you're still on the legacy Hub, see How to hide a topic (Legacy hub).
Table of contents:
Hide a topic on one guidebook
Open the guidebook you want to change and go to Guidebook Content.
Open the topic (click its name, or (⋯) → Edit).
Go to the Visibility tab and switch on Hide on this guidebook.
Click Save Changes.
Guests of that guidebook no longer see the topic. Your other guidebooks aren't affected. To show it again, switch Hide on this guidebook off and save.
ℹ️ The Hide on this guidebook switch only appears when you open the topic from a guidebook, not from the Account library.
Remove a topic from a guidebook
Open the guidebook and go to Guidebook Content.
Click the three dots (⋯) on the topic's row.
Choose Remove from guidebook and confirm.
The topic disappears from that guidebook's content tree straight away, and guests viewing that guidebook won't see it. You can still find and edit the topic in your Account library.
The shared tag warning
This is the one to read before you click confirm.
Topics often reach a guidebook through tags. If the topic you're removing is included via a tag that also feeds other guidebooks, removing it here can take it out of those guidebooks too. The confirmation dialog warns you when this is the case — so if you see that warning, stop and read it rather than clicking through.
💡 Tip: If you only want the topic gone from one guidebook, Hide on this guidebook is the safer choice. Tags On Guides Explained covers how tag distribution works.
Hide, remove or Access level — which do you want?
These do different jobs and are easy to mix up.
You want to... | Use this |
Stop showing the topic on this guidebook, easy to undo | Visibility tab → Hide on this guidebook |
Take the topic out of this guidebook entirely | (⋯) → Remove from guidebook |
Keep the topic, but only show it around the guest's stay | Visibility tab → Access level → Visible only during the stay |
Access level sits on the topic editor's Visibility tab and offers Always visible or Visible only during the stay.
📖 Full detail: Share one topic across guidebooks (see "Set the access level")
Can I hide a whole category?
Not directly. Categories and subcategories don't have a per-guidebook hide control in the new Hub — their menus cover editing, expand/collapse defaults, deep links and deletion.
A category appears in a guidebook because of the topics inside it that reach that guidebook. So to clear a whole section, hide or remove the topics beneath it — once nothing reaches the guidebook, there's no guest-visible content there.
