When
All accounts move to SMS Balance on the same day, when SMS Balance is switched on. You don't need to do anything.
What carries over
Your plan allowance carries on as before, every cycle.
SMS you bought and haven't used become your opening balance, at exactly what you paid. It never expires.
Unspent plan allowance isn't converted. It resets as usual.
Monthly (recurring) SMS add-ons stop renewing. SMS from their last paid month become part of your opening balance like any other unused SMS you bought.
The first time you open your SMS page
A window called SMS now runs on a balance shows your opening balance and your options:
Set up auto top-up (recommended, so guests keep getting their messages). It's shown when Auto top-up is available for your account.
Not now: you keep sending from your allowance and balance, and can set up Auto top-up any time.
Your opening balance also appears under Top-ups on your Billing page as Opening balance.
