My preview link is not updatingYour web browser is probably storing an old version of the page. Manually refresh the page and the latest information should appear. Use Ctrl+F5 on a PC or Cmd+R on Apple. If you are viewing after saving to your device's home screen, and not a web browser preview, then you will need to swipe the app closed from the recent apps view of your device and then reopen fresh from the home screen icon.

I can’t use a photo as a cover image, why not?We have a minimum size for the cover photos, they must be at least 1920px wide for the Desktop Cover Photo and 1080px high for the Mobile Cover Photo. If you are receiving an error that your image is too small then you’ll have to upload a higher quality image instead. Any photo taken on a modern camera or smartphone will be plenty large enough. The Desktop Cover Photo must be a horizontal image and the optional Mobile Cover Photo must be vertical.

My credit card keeps getting refused! We are based in London, UK so your bank may be refusing the charge if it’s an overseas payment. Please contact your card issuer to ask why they are not permitting the charge. If they cannot see any attempted charges from Touch Stay then send us a message through the support tab in your account and we’ll investigate. It's also worth checking that your card hasn't expired or that there are sufficient funds or credit limit.

What’s a PWA?Touch Stay is a PWA. 🚀 What the what?! Chill. It’s really quite simple (and most cool). We haven’t invented this, though; you can thank people far smarter than us for that! But we are taking advantage of the nifty tech. PWA is the acronym for Progressive Web App. It’s basically just technology within your web browser that allows a website to look and feel like an app from an app store but it’s still just a website.

System RequirementsThis article covers the system requirements for the owner portal, where you create and manage your Touch Stay digital guide books. For details on the requirements of mobile devices to view your guide books, see this Knowledge Base article. Touch Stay does not require a powerful system, it works through most modern web browsers and is very light in its use of system resources. However, due to the number of options available, and the inevitable complexity of some areas of the user interface, we recommend using a desktop or laptop computer for the best experience.

Can I create a branded Quick Share custom link to my guide? If you dislike the rather long and jumbled up Quick Share link you might find the below information helpful. At present we don’t offer the ability for you to brand your URL but never say never. In the meantime, here are some effective alternative approaches. QR Codes QR codes have been around forever. You know those funny looking images that you point your camera at to access a website page?

How do I remove my name from the front cover? You can remove your name from the cover page (HOME tab) of your guide and replace it with a greeting such as “Welcome” or simply leave it blank. If you only have one guide, or if you have multiple guides but want the same text to be used for all of them, then you can update your name from the Edit Profile section of the Account page. If you have multiple guides and want different contact details on each of them, then you should update the details individually from each Guide Details page (click on the guide name in the Guides list page).

How do I know if my guest has seen the guide?Invitation links have a view counter on them so you can see when, and how many times, they have been accessed. Go to the “Invite & Share” tab for your guide and in the Invitations table there is a column for “Views”. You can also use the filter to only show those invitations that have been opened or unopened. Notes: If you view an invitation link yourself then this will also count as a “View” in the table.

Why can’t I add another guide/property?The trial account is for only a single guide/property, to add more you must upgrade your subscription first. This can be done via the Account page. If you have any issues, or receive a message that your account limit is reached, then please contact support and we’ll assist. If you are a property manager, or hotel, operating under a services contract with us, then you may not find any options under the Account tab – should you wish to amend the service contract, please let us know at info@touchstay.

Why aren’t all my categories showing up in my guide?Categories need to be given Topics before they will show up in the guide, empty categories won’t display in the guest view. If you’ve recently signed up and the local area section isn’t showing, then most likely you just need to add some topics to it, the Google Places feature is the easiest way to build out your local area guide section. If your category has topics added in Content Hub but they still won’t show in the guide then check those topics have an active Tag.
-
Why don’t some sections have any Tags in Content Hub?Tags are only available on Topics since it is Topics which hold the content visible to guests. You can’t set Tags on the Categories or Subcategories, if you add some Topics to a section then you will be able to give them Tags. See this article for more details on the Category, Subcategory and Topic structure of Touch Stay: Categories, Subcategories and Topics explained Note that any section without any Topics won’t show in your guide.

My photos aren’t all loading in the guest view, what can I do?If you are experiencing issues with photos not loading in the guest view topics, then the most likely explanation is your web browser cache is missing the images and needs a manual refresh of the page. Web browsers store images of regularly visited web pages in their cache to speed up loading times but occasionally the cached images can get lost or corrupted. In most cases, your web browser will recognise when images are missing and automatically reload them but we have found Safari on iOS and Macbooks, in particular, isn’t always very diligent in this.

How do I avoid extra lines or other formatting differences when pasting in from another source?Copy and paste is a super useful tool but when copying from websites, or other formatted documents such as emails or PDFs, you can bring along hidden formatting tags when you paste into text entry boxes. This can result in unexpected formatting, for example, the appearance of extra lines or different font styling. How to resolve this depends on the formatting differences you want to correct. The simplest starting point is to either paste in the text values alone, and ignore the formatting tags, or you can remove the formatting tags from the Touch Stay text entry box after pasting in.
