How to update your property details

In the new Hub, your guidebook's name, contact details, location, address settings and timezone all live on the Property info tab.

In the new Hub, your guidebook's name, contact details, location, address settings and timezone all live on the Property info tab.

Table of contents:

How to get there

  1. Open Guidebooks from the left sidebar.

  2. Select the guidebook you want to edit (or use the Editing guidebook dropdown to switch to it).

  3. Click the Property info tab.

When you make a change, a save bar appears. Click Save Changes to keep your changes, or Discard to undo them.

The cards on the Property info tab depend on your guidebook design. This article describes Guidebook 2.0, which has the Property name field and the Contact details, Location & Address and Address settings cards. On the legacy guidebook design, Property name is inside Contact details, the Time Zone is in Location & Address, and there is no Address settings card. The setting that controls when guests see your address is called Map and address visibility there, also in Location & Address.

Update your property name

  1. At the top of the Property info tab, find the Property name field.

  2. Enter or update the name for this guidebook. Tick Show on front page if you want the name shown on the guidebook's front page.

  3. Click Save Changes.

Update your contact details

  1. On the Property info tab, go to the Contact details card.

  2. Edit the fields as needed:

    • Contact name

    • E-mail: enter a complete email address, for example [email protected].

    • Phone number: on Guidebook 2.0, choose the country in the dropdown next to Phone number and type only the national number, without the country code. On the legacy guidebook design, type the full number starting with + and the country code, for example +14155552671 for a US number.

    • Preferred contact method: choose Voice call or SMS. This controls what happens when a guest taps your phone number in the guidebook: it opens either their phone dialler or their SMS composer. It only affects the tap behaviour. The number is shown as text, so guests can still choose to text it manually.

    • WhatsApp Phone number: optional. Click Add to enter one. This box has no country dropdown, so type the full number starting with + and the country code. If it's filled in, guests get a separate WhatsApp contact option.

  3. Choose what guests see. Each detail has its own Show on front page control, and so does the contact photo. Only the details you turn on are shown to guests.

  4. Click Save Changes.

💡 Tip: each contact field controls its own contact option: Phone number, E-mail and WhatsApp Phone number. Leave a field blank and that option won't appear, so you can show all three, one or two, or none. For example, leaving Phone number blank while filling in WhatsApp means guests only see a WhatsApp option.

💡 Tip (Guidebook 2.0): when the AI chatbot is switched off or isn't included in your plan, the guidebook's Assistant tab shows the contact details you've set to show, so guests can reach you from there. If none are set to show, the Assistant tab only shows a short message suggesting guests search the guidebook.

💡 Tip: if you want the same contact details on all your guidebooks, set them in your Guidebook defaults and leave Use Guidebook defaults switched on for this section. See Guidebook defaults – set once, apply to all your guides.

Update your location & address

  1. On the Property info tab, go to the Location & Address card.

  2. Enter or update the street address, city/town, region/state, postcode and country, and choose whether to Show on front page.

  3. Check the map position, and adjust the map settings if needed: Map zoom level, Show map pin? and Map pin icon.

  4. Click Save Changes.

The map position determines where your property appears on the guidebook map, so it's worth checking it's accurate.

Address settings and timezone

On the Address settings card you can:

  • Set the guidebook's timezone.

  • Set the Address access level: Always visible, Visible only during the stay or Always hidden.

⚠️ Important: the timezone drives several features, including check-in/check-out times, scheduled messages and other time-based automations. Make sure it's set correctly.

Control when guests see your guidebook address

Use Address access level to limit when guests can see your guidebook's address and its position on the map.

  1. Open the guidebook and click the Property info tab.

  2. On the Address settings card, choose an Address access level:

    • Always visible

    • Visible only during the stay

    • Always hidden

  3. Click Save Changes.

To use one access level for all your guidebooks, set it on the Address settings card in Guidebook defaults (Property info tab) and leave Use Guidebook defaults switched on in each guidebook. To give one guidebook its own level, switch Use Guidebook defaults off on that guidebook's Address settings card, then choose a level. If you only have one guidebook, there is no switch.

On the legacy guidebook design, this setting is called Map and address visibility. You'll find it at the bottom of the Location & Address card of each guidebook.

Using Guidebook defaults

If your account has more than one guidebook, the contact, location and address settings sections each have a Use Guidebook defaults switch:

Switch

What happens

On

This section uses the values from your Guidebook defaults. When you update the defaults, this guidebook updates too.

Off

This section uses this guidebook's own values. Changes to the defaults won't affect it.

On Guidebook 2.0, the switches don't all cover the same things:

  • Contact details: the switch covers the whole card.

  • Location & Address: the switch covers only the Map pin icon. The street address, city/town, region/state, postcode, country, Show on front page and map position are always this guidebook's own.

  • Address settings: the switch covers the whole card: Time Zone and Address access level.

If you only have one guidebook, there are no switches. You edit the values directly.

If your changes can't be saved

If you click Save Changes and see Changes can't be saved. Check your input and try again., one of the values can't be accepted. Fix that value, then click Save Changes again.

Where to look:

  • Inside a guidebook: the message tells you which field and which tab to check. The field can be on a different tab from the one you're editing.

  • On the Guidebook defaults page: the message doesn't name the field. Open the Property info tab and check the Contact details card.

What each field needs:

Field

What it needs

Phone number and WhatsApp Phone number

The full number, starting with + and the country code, for example +14155552671. The exception is Phone number on Guidebook 2.0: choose the country in the dropdown and type only the national number. Or leave the field blank.

E-mail

A complete email address, for example [email protected]. Or leave the field blank.

Property name

Can't be left empty.

A value that can't be saved is marked in red under the field once you click out of it. For a phone number, the note includes an example of the right format.

Inside a guidebook, the PIN or the custom guidebook link on the Settings tab can also stop the save. When that's the cause, the message points you to the Settings tab.
