Collecting guest ID details for authority reporting

Some markets require you to collect identification from every guest who stays. Guest Identification lets you gather that information as part of check-in.

Some markets require you to collect identification from every guest who stays. Guest Identification lets you gather that information as part of check-in.

What it does

Once Guest personal info & stay details is enabled, you can turn on Guest Identification to ask for document details, date of birth, nationality, and home address.

How to set it up

  1. On the Guest Registration page, turn on the toggle for the Guest Identification row.

  2. Select Form settings.

  3. Under Require ID collection for, choose Only main guest or All guests in the party.

  4. Turn each field's Required? toggle on or off in the ID details and Home address groups.

  5. Select Save.

Good to know

  • Supported document types are Passport, Citizen ID, and Driving license.

  • Guests only type their details in — no photo or document upload is ever requested or stored.

  • Document ID number, Nationality, and Country are required by default; document issue date, expiry date, date of birth, city, and full address are not.

  • With Only main guest, only the lead guest's ID details are checked. With All guests, everyone in the party must complete their own ID before the group can access the guidebook.

  • One check-in can hold several sets of document details, each with its own name, for example one per person in the party. A companion who checks in through the lead guest's link adds one set for themselves.
