Understanding the five moments in a Timeline

Every Timeline is built around five moments of your guest's stay, each with its own title and widgets.

Every Timeline is built around five moments of your guest's stay, each with its own title and widgets.

What it does

The five moments are fixed and always appear in this order: Pre-arrival, Check-in, During stay, Check-out, and Post-stay. You can't add, rename, or remove a moment, but you fully control what's inside each one. On your guest's Home tab the same five moments are labelled Pre-arrival · Check-in · During your stay · Check-out · Post-stay.

Each moment has two tabs: Content & Widgets and Timeframe & Access. On Content & Widgets you'll find a Title field with an Add Field code option (double-click a word in the title to highlight it, then insert a field code such as {{guest_first_name}} or {{guide_city}}), and below it a widget list you can drag to reorder.

How to set it up

  1. Open Guidebook → Timelines and select a moment from the moments strip.

  2. On the Content & Widgets tab, edit the Title or drag widgets into the order you want.

  3. Select Edit on a widget to open its settings, or use More widgets to add one that isn't in the moment yet.

  4. Select Save Changes.

Good to know

  • Each moment starts with a starter set of widgets you can rearrange, edit, or remove.

  • Your guest only sees a moment's widgets once that moment is open to them.

Why this is better: Hosts can tailor exactly what a guest sees at each stage of their stay, instead of one static list.
