Table of contents:
How to access the menu
Open your guidebook and go to the Guidebook Content tab.
Find the category, subcategory or topic you want to manage.
Click the three dots (⋯) on the right side of that row.
The menu closes automatically if you click outside it or press Escape.
What's in each menu
The options depend on what you open the menu on:
Level | Menu options |
Category | Edit · Set all expanded / Set all collapsed (switches all its subcategories; only shown when it has subcategories) · Get deep link / QR code · Delete with all the content inside |
Subcategory | Edit · Set expanded / Set collapsed · Get deep link / QR code · Delete with all the content inside |
Topic | Edit · Duplicate to guidebook(s) · Duplicate topic · Get deep link / QR code · Remove from guidebook · Delete topic · Delete custom text / media / location (only when this guidebook has its own version) |
ℹ️ Categories and subcategories have no Duplicate option. To copy everything inside one, use bulk actions.
Edit
What it does: Opens the topic editor so you can update the content.
Click (⋯) → Edit.
The topic editor opens with these tabs:
Tab | What you can do |
Content | Edit the topic title, body text and Featured media. Use the toolbar to format text, add bullet points, insert emojis, embed images inline and add internal links to other sections of your guidebook. |
Advanced | Add a Tripadvisor review link and set the topic's map location (pin). |
Visibility | Manage which guidebooks and tags this topic is associated with. Control whether the topic is shared across multiple guidebooks or exclusive to this one. |
Google Place topics also have a Google Place tab. Weather topics have only Content and Visibility.
Make your changes — the live preview on the right updates as you edit.
Click Save Changes (or Discard to drop your edits).
⚠️ Shared content note: If the topic is shared (used in several guidebooks), the editor first shows a message listing the guidebooks that use it. Choose:
Edit shared content to edit it right there. Your changes show in every guidebook that uses it.
Duplicate topic to make a separate copy for this guidebook only. The copy opens for editing, and your other guidebooks keep the original.

Duplicate topic
What it does: Creates a copy of the topic in a place you choose.
Click (⋯) → Duplicate topic.
In the window that opens, choose the Category and Subcategory for the copy. The topic's current place is selected for you.
Confirm. The copy is added at the end of that subcategory, with the same title and without the original's tags.
Click into the copy to rename it or edit the content as needed.
To give one or more other guidebooks their own copy instead, use Duplicate to guidebook(s).
💡 When to use this: Duplicating is useful when you want to create a similar topic without starting from scratch — for example, creating entries for multiple restaurants or bedrooms that share a similar format.
A confirmation message appears briefly at the bottom of the screen to let you know the duplication was successful.
Bulk actions on several topics
Need to act on more than one topic at a time — for example, duplicate an entire category or subcategory so you can create an edited version for a second guidebook? Use multi-select instead of handling topics one by one.
Go to Account library → Content Hub, or to a guidebook's Guidebook Content tab.
Expand the category or subcategory you want to work with.
Tick the checkboxes next to the subcategories or topics you want to include. Selecting a subcategory automatically includes all the topics inside it.
A bar appears at the bottom of the screen showing how many topics are selected (with Unselect all). Click Bulk actions.
Choose the action you need:
Bulk action | What it does |
Assign to guidebook(s) | "Share synced content." Adds the selected (shared, not duplicated) topics to additional guidebooks. |
Tag topics | "Apply tag-based display rules." Adds tags to the selected topics in bulk. |
Duplicate to guidebook(s) | "Give each guidebook its own copy." Duplicates the selected topics and assigns the copies directly to the guidebook(s) you choose — no separate visibility step needed afterward. |
Duplicate topics | "Copy into another category." Duplicates the selected topics (and their subcategory structure) into a category or subcategory of your choice, with tags removed from the copies. |
Merge topics | Content Hub only, when you select two or more topics from the same subcategory. You pick one topic to keep; its content is preserved, and the other selected topics are merged into it and permanently deleted. |
Remove from guidebook | Guidebook Content tab only. Removes the selected topics from this guidebook. They stay in your Account library. |
Delete topics | Permanently deletes all selected topics. Inside a guidebook, it's hidden if any selected topic is shared with other guidebooks. |
ℹ️ You can run a bulk action on up to 100 topics at a time. If you select more, you'll be asked to reduce the selection first. The duplicate actions aren't offered when the selection includes a Marketplace product.
💡 When to use this: This is the way to duplicate an entire category or subcategory in the new Hub — there's no single "duplicate category" button, but selecting everything inside it and using Duplicate to guidebook(s) or Duplicate topics achieves the same result in one action.
Delete and Remove from guidebook
Delete topic deletes the topic from your Account library, so it disappears from every guidebook that uses it.
Click (⋯) → Delete topic.
A confirmation appears: "Delete this topic?" — "Are you sure you want to delete this topic?"
Click Delete to delete it, or Cancel to keep it.
⚠️ This action cannot be undone. Once a topic is deleted, it cannot be restored. Double-check before confirming.
If your account has several guidebooks and the topic is linked to all of them, you'll see a stronger warning that deleting it from Content Hub removes it from every guidebook. You can go ahead, or cancel and read more first.
Shared topics don't have a Delete topic option inside a guidebook. To take one out of just this guidebook, use Remove from guidebook: the topic stays in your Account library and your other guidebooks. If it reaches other guidebooks through a shared tag, removing it can take it out of those too, and the confirmation warns you.
Categories and subcategories: Delete with all the content inside deletes the category or subcategory together with everything nested in it.
Get deep link / QR code
What it does: Gives you a direct deep link and a printable QR code for that specific category, subcategory or topic of your guidebook.
Click (⋯) → Get deep link / QR code.
You'll see:
A QR code — download it as SVG or JPG
The deep link — click Copy Deep Link to copy it to your clipboard
💡 When to use this:
Print a QR code and stick it next to an appliance, linking directly to the "How to use the coffee machine" topic
Add a QR code to a welcome card that links straight to your Wi-Fi details
Share a direct link to a specific topic in a message to a guest
