Table of contents:
How to get there
Open the Guidebooks section from the left sidebar.
Select the guidebook you want to edit (or use the "Editing guidebook" dropdown to switch to it).
Click the Guidebook Content tab.
Understanding the layout
Pane | What it does |
Left pane (editor) | Displays your full category, subcategory and topic tree. This is where you add, edit and remove content. |
Right pane (live preview) | Shows a real-time view of how guests will see your guidebook. Updates automatically as you make changes. |
You no longer need to navigate away to check how your guidebook looks — the preview is always right there.
Your content structure
Guidebook content is organised into three levels:
Level | What it is | Examples |
Categories | Top-level sections that create the main menu in your guidebook | Welcome, About the Accommodation, Local Area Guide |
Subcategories | Sit within categories and appear as subheadings | Restaurants, Things to Do, Shops |
Topics | Sit within subcategories — this is where your actual content lives (text, photos, videos, links) | How to Use the Coffee Machine, WiFi / Internet Details, Beach Access Information |
Add a category
Scroll to the bottom of the content tree and click Add Category.
Pick an icon and type the name in the Enter category name... field.
Click Add.
Your new category appears in the content tree and in the live preview.
Add a subcategory
Expand the category where you want to add a subcategory.
At the bottom of that category, click Add Subcategory to followed by the category's name.
Give your subcategory a name.
Click Add.
Add a topic
Expand the category and subcategory where you want to add a topic.
Click Add Topic to followed by the subcategory's name.
Choose Blank for a standard topic, or Widgets for a ready-made widget such as Google Place, Weather, Viator, Tide Times, Email capture, Star rating or First impression. (Contextual is coming soon.)
Add your topic title and content using the content editor.
Click Save Changes.
New topics you add here are guidebook-specific — they belong only to this guidebook unless you later choose to share them across other guidebooks via the Account library.
Edit a topic
Click on any topic name in the content tree, or click the three dots (⋯) to the right of the topic and select Edit.
The topic editor opens with these tabs:
Content – the topic title, body text and Featured media (and, for weather topics, the weather settings)
Advanced – the Tripadvisor review link and the topic's map location (pin)
Visibility – manage which guidebooks and tags this topic is associated with
Google Place topics also have a Google Place tab. Weather topics have only Content and Visibility.
Use the toolbar across the top of the content editor to format text, add bullet points, change text size and colour, insert emojis, add images inline, and add internal links to other sections of your guidebook.
To set the topic's main photo or video, use the Featured media block: click Add photo or video, or Change to replace it. Click the trash icon to remove it from the topic.
Click Save Changes (or Discard to drop your edits).
The live preview on the right updates as you edit so you can see your changes immediately.
Topic actions – the three-dot menu
Every topic has a (⋯) menu on the right side. Depending on the topic, it offers:
Action | What it does |
Edit | Opens the topic editor |
Duplicate to guidebook(s) | Copies the topic into other guidebooks you choose |
Duplicate topic | Opens a window where you choose the Category and Subcategory for the copy. The copy is added at the end of that subcategory, without the original's tags |
Get deep link / QR code | Gives you a direct deep link and printable QR code for that specific topic |
Remove from guidebook | Takes the topic out of this guidebook only. It stays in your Account library and your other guidebooks. If the topic reaches other guidebooks through a shared tag, removing it can take it out of those too, and the confirmation warns you |
Delete topic | Deletes the topic from your Account library, so it disappears from every guidebook that uses it. You'll see a confirmation first. Not shown for shared topics |
Delete custom text / media / location | Only shown when this guidebook has its own version of the topic's text, media or location. Removes that customisation, so the Account library version shows again |
⚠️ Heads up: Deleting a topic cannot be undone. If you only want it gone from one guidebook, use Remove from guidebook instead.
Changing the order of your content
You can't drag and drop on the Guidebook Content tab. The order of your categories, subcategories and topics is set once for your whole account, in Account library → Content Hub, and every guidebook follows it. The tab shows a reminder: "Content order applies to all guidebooks and is managed in the Account library."

Search your content
Type in the Search content... box at the top of the content tree. The tree filters as you type, so only matching categories, subcategories and topics stay visible.
💡 Search matches titles only, not the text inside your topics.
What's different from the legacy Hub?
Legacy Hub | New Hub |
Content Hub with no preview — navigate away to see changes | Two-pane editor with a live guest preview alongside your content |
Adding a category via a single + Add Category button in Content Hub | Add Category at the bottom of the tree, plus Add Subcategory to… and Add Topic to… at every level |
No topic action menu | Three-dot (⋯) menu on every topic: Edit, Duplicate topic, Get deep link / QR code, Remove from guidebook, Delete topic and more |
No deep link or QR code per topic | Get a direct link and QR code for any topic from the (⋯) menu |
Must navigate to a separate preview to see guest view | Preview updates in real-time as you type |
