How to set the Cover PhotoThe cover photo sits as the background image on the Home tab of your guide. To update this image go to the Guide Details tab (click on the guide name on the Guides list page). You can set your own cover image at the top, by either choosing an image already uploaded or adding a new one. Images must be in either .jpg or .png format and have minimum size requirements depending on whether they’re a desktop cover photo or a mobile cover photo.

Photo format and size requirementsYou can upload .png or .jpeg images from your computer’s hard drive or any location on the internet, such as your own website. After upload, you can crop or rotate the image, see this article for more details. You can use your photos in various locations of your guidebook: A cover photo – this will display on the Home tab of your guide when guests open it. You can choose to upload different photos for the desktop and mobile views of your guide.

How to add videosThe first thing to note is that we do not host videos on Touch Stay, we only embed them from other sources. Videos need to be available on either YouTube, Vimeo or Wistia to be used in Touch Stay. Simply copy the share URL from the video sharing platform into the video upload box and you will then be able to add that video to your Topics. Note that you must have the privacy settings on your video set to allow public access, if you do not want your video to be returned in search results for YouTube then select “Unlisted” (do not select “Private” otherwise only you will be able to view it!

Photo organisation explainedTouch Stay has separate tabs for photos & videos depending on where the media was originally uploaded, Content Hub has a media tab and every Guide will also have its own media tab. There’s no difference between them other than providing separation of the media to help organise your photos and videos easier. When selecting photos or videos for topics (and cover photos) you can always access photos or videos from other Guides, or Content Hub, by using the “Filter media” option at the top of the photo selection section.
-
How to remove a photo or video from a topicIf you need to remove a photo or video currently displaying as the main image in a topic, you first need to know where the photo has been added. For single guide accounts this will always be in Content Hub. For multiple guide accounts it could be in Content Hub (if used for all guides) or in the Guide Content sub-tab of the Guide page (if used for a specific guide).

Why don’t all my photos show up in the guest view?Touch Stay doesn’t have a photo gallery feature similar to one you would find on a listing site. In Touch Stay photos are more functional and need to be attached to some content for them to show up. For example, you could attach a photo of your kitchen to the “Kitchen Equipment” topic in Content Hub. You set your cover photo and welcome section photo from relevant section of the “Guide Details” tab (click your guide name on the Guides list page).
-
Why don’t all my photos appear in the PDF version?Photos from Google Places won’t show up in the PDF, only photos you have added yourself are available for the PDF and printed version. You can add your own photo to replace the Google Places ones using the “Edit topic” option found in the 3 dots menu for that topic in Content Hub. Once in the “Edit topic” screen, scroll down to the photo section and use the “Change Media” button to upload your own image.

What’s the difference between Content Hub Media and Guide Media? The separation is simply there to help organise your photos and is most relevant if you have lots of guides in your account. Photos/videos will be found on the tab depending on where they were uploaded. Cover photos and custom topic media will be found on the Guide Media tab, whilst anything added to topics in Content Hub will be found on the Content Hub Media tab. Photos can be uploaded in bulk through either tab.
